Spanish triathlete breaks world record by riding a motorcycle for 4,012 kilometers in 24 hours

Iván Cervantes, the five-time Spanish motorcycle cross-country champion, recently rode a Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Explorer on the high-speed circular track of the Nardo Technical Center in Italy for 24 hours with amazing perseverance, covering a total of 4,012.53 kilometers with an average speed of 167.79 kilometers per hour, breaking the six-year record of 3,406 kilometers held by American driver Carl Reese by more than 600 kilometers!

This world record-breaking Tiger 1200 GT Explorer was a mass-produced car randomly selected directly from the production line of Triumph Hinckley Factory in the UK. Except for basic maintenance before the race, there was no modification. What's more surprising is that the tires were only replaced once during the entire challenge, and the original standard Metzeler Tourance tires showed excellent wear during the process.

Cervantes said that riding for 24 hours continuously was not easy, but he successfully completed this impossible task through some tricks, such as controlling the throttle with his left hand to reduce physical fatigue. He also stressed that the performance of this Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Explorer was very good and was the key to winning the championship.

It is worth mentioning that Cervantes worked closely with Professor Andrew Bagshaw of the University of Birmingham in the UK before the challenge to adjust his diet and sleep schedule in the right way. He even used his own Tiger 1200 Rally Pro for preparation. But obviously, no amount of training can fully prepare people for 24 hours of high-speed riding without sleep.

This challenge not only broke the world record, but also demonstrated the durability of motorcycles and the extraordinary perseverance of riders. Cervantes is not only a legend in the motorcycle off-road world, but now he has become the king of long-distance riding, writing a new chapter in motorcycle sports.

This feat is not only a personal honor for Cervantes, but also a great victory for the Triumph motorcycle brand, proving the reliability and performance of its products. I believe that more riders will be inspired to challenge their own limits and create more amazing records in the future.
