Late at night on August 11, local time in France, the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games was held at the Stade de France. IOC President Bach officially announced that the Paris Olympic Games were closed, and he called on young people around the world to gather at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games in the United States in four years.

The following is the full text of Bach's speech, slightly deleted-

Dear Olympic friends, dear Olympic athletes:

Although our world is full of tensions, you from all 206 National Olympic Committees and the IOC refugee team have made the City of Light shine brighter than ever before.

Your performances were simply amazing, and you competed fiercely with each other. Every game was on the edge of perfection, and every performance sparked excitement around the world. You showed us how great our human capabilities are.

During this time, you lived together peacefully under the same roof in the Olympic Village. You embraced each other. You respected each other, even if your countries were divided by war and conflict. You created a culture of peace.

This inspired all of us and billions of people around the world, thank you for making our dreams come true, thank you for making us believe that there will be a better world for everyone.

We know that the Olympic Games cannot create peace. But the Olympic Games can create a culture of peace and inspire the world. That is why I call on all those who share this Olympic spirit: Let us live in this culture of peace every day.

These Olympic Games can only inspire the world because our French friends set the stage. And what a spectacular stage it is!

Millions of people celebrated the athletes in the streets of Paris and across France. Millions of spectators created an overwhelming atmosphere in iconic venues. More than half of the world's population shared in this spectacular celebration of human unity in all our diversity.

The 2024 Paris Olympic Games are a celebration of athletes and sport at its best. The first Olympic Games to be fully in line with our Olympic Agenda reform: younger, more urban, more inclusive, more sustainable. The first Olympic Games to achieve full gender equality.

These are sensational Olympics from beginning to end - or dare I say: these are Seine Olympics from beginning to end.

Paris 2024 is the Olympics of a new era.

That is why I want to thank all our French friends. First of all, I would like to express my warmest thanks to the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, for his untiring support. I sincerely thank the organizing committee, under the outstanding leadership of my fellow Olympian Tony Estanguet, for making these Games more open. I sincerely thank the public authorities and public services at all levels for their important contribution.

All our thanks and recognition go to our Olympic community - the National Olympic Committees, the International Federations, our top partners and media rights holders. Together, you have contributed in every way to the Olympics of a new era. For this, you can always be proud.

Special thanks to all the excellent volunteers. You will always be in our hearts.

Dear French friends, you have fallen in love with the Olympic Games. We have fallen in love with all of you.

Thank you Paris, thank you France!

Long live the Olympic Games! Long live France!

And now, with my heart full of emotions, I have to perform another task: I declare the XXXIII Olympiad in Paris 2024 closed.

In accordance with tradition, I call on the youth of the world to gather in Los Angeles, the United States of America, in four years to celebrate the XXXIV Olympiad with all of us.
