Liverpool expects to receive more than £60m per year from a new kit deal with Adidas starting next season.

Liverpool will ditch their current supplier Nike after five years. The new partnership is expected to deliver significant financial returns to ensure Liverpool receive similar revenues to their top four rivals.

Arsenal, who also wear Adidas kits, have earned around £60m per year since 2019. Manchester City receive £65m per year from Puma and Chelsea's deal with Nike is also of similar value.

The specific value of Liverpool's current and new deals is difficult to determine due to the incentive nature of the contract, as payments depend on the club's performance in the Champions League. For example, relegation to the Europa League could reduce revenues due to less competitiveness. Similarly, winning the Champions League and participating in the FIFA Club World Cup could increase revenues.

Liverpool has such a deal with Nike, which guarantees a minimum of £30m per season, but includes several lucrative commercial partnerships and potential add-ons.

In addition to the standard agreement, Liverpool negotiated a 20% royalty on net sales of club-related products.

Nike also used its portfolio of globally renowned sports stars to promote Liverpool merchandise, most notably basketball star LeBron James, who is a minority shareholder in FSG and Liverpool FC.

This also ensured Liverpool's estimated revenue with Nike of nearly £60 million per season when the contract was triggered.

However, the club believed a switch to adidas would be more beneficial. They had previously worked with the sports giant from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s and during Rafael Benítez's tenure.

Nike wanted to extend the existing agreement, but Liverpool chose to return to adidas.
