Romano Rift: De Rossi and Cristante Clash in Training Amid Rough Start
Amid a challenging start to the new season, Italian giants AS Roma are facing internal conflict. Reports from Italian outlet Rai Sport reveal a significant confrontation between head coach Daniele De Rossi and midfielder Bryan Cristante during a recent training session.
Following a poor start to the season with no wins in the opening two matches (one draw and one loss), tensions within the team have escalated. During training, Cristante and De Rossi reportedly engaged in a heated argument that turned physical. The incident occurred shortly after Cristante was substituted at halftime during a match against Empoli, a move that apparently triggered the altercation.
Argentine international Leandro Paredes was also involved in the dispute, being seen as a close ally of De Rossi. Italian media suggest that Cristante may consider a transfer before the window closes, given the deteriorating relationship with the coach. However, with his contract running until June 2027 and the transfer deadline fast approaching, a move away from Roma could prove difficult.
Should Cristante remain at the club, it's likely that De Rossi will exclude him from the squad, further complicating the situation. Roma currently sit 15th in the Serie A standings with just one point from their opening two fixtures, and their next match is a daunting away trip to Juventus, who have won both of their opening games. De Rossi's side will need to overcome significant obstacles to secure their first victory of the season.
