"God has blessed me with an amazing journey that has taken me through transformations I could never have predicted or dreamed of as a little kid in Brownsburg, Indiana. Today, I am officially announcing my retirement from basketball. It has been an incredible journey, and I am so grateful to all the people who have helped me achieve goals beyond my imagination.

Since I was a kid, my favorite Bible verse has always been: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13. I want to thank God for the grace and privilege of playing this sport and giving my best every day.

Thank you to all my coaches, teammates, trainers, doctors, friends and family - there are too many to mention in this short post, but you have supported me through countless years and cities and helped me exceed my own expectations.

A special thank you to my mom and dad - you are my biggest fans - always cheering me on with unwavering support; my agent Mark Bartelstein - the best in the business, who always kept me sane during countless pre- and post-game phone calls; and my children Bernie, Charlie, Nora and GT - you are my source of motivation, even when I could be home with you. and most importantly, my wife Robin - I don't know where I would be without you. You have played all of these roles and more!

Thank you to all the fans: Thank you for supporting me through the ups and downs. I will always cherish the encouraging letters and moments we have shared around the world. You inspire me to always dream big and improve every day - to the next generation of young players, I challenge you to do the same!

As I prepare to spend more time with my family as a father and husband, I look forward to new adventures and challenges, taking the lessons learned on the court into the next chapter of my life and career.

I can't wait to see what's next! ”
