On August 20, former NBA player Rashad McCants broke the news on a podcast that a high-level source revealed that James wanted to surpass legendary star Michael Jordan as early as 2005 (when he was 20 years old) and said that he would "make another No. 23 disappear."

"He (the source) told me that he played with James after the 2004-05 season, and the table was full of assholes," McCants said on Arenas' podcast, "James casually said some trash talk, including 'I'm trying to make another No. 23 disappear.'"

McCants said that no one thought James had such ability at the time. The source said that he looked up, glanced at the other people at the table, and then said to James: "Good luck, young man."

The truth of this revelation is still unknown, but James certainly shouldered a lot of pressure when he entered the NBA. At a young age, he is very courageous and confident in himself. He believes that he can compete with the top players in the league. In the 2004-05 season, the second year of his career, James was selected to the All-Star Game and the All-NBA Team (Second Team) for the first time.

Today, James is often compared with Jordan. After he became the all-time scoring leader, many people believe that James is already the best player in history. Jordan praised James' performance, and James also mentioned many times that the Bulls legend paved the way for him. However, the debate over who is the best player in history, James or Jordan, is expected to continue.
